Take a look at this case listed on Findlaw. Tell me what sticks out here. Here’s what the courts have to say about his “expert” testimony.
A review of Dr. Bartholomew’s trial testimony shows why the trial court did not regard his report as necessarily compelling the concrete findings of physical assault that Lisa now claims are unrefuted. On cross-examination by Duane, Dr. Bartholomew testified that his charts summarized Duane’s responses to questions without including Duane’s explanations or clarifications.7 Describing their interviews, he said that on several occasions, Duane ‘looked sincerely and genuinely frustrated and confused at the behavioral quality of the questions’ and on some of those instances he allowed Duane to go into detail.8 But in the interest of time (the interviews totaled slightly more than two hours), he cut short Duane’s replies.9 For example, Dr. Bartholomew testified that when Duane admitted to having touched Lisa in ‘unwanted ways’, he did not consider that Duane might have been pushing back. He testified that the mutuality of violence
was irrelevant to his inquiry. What constitutes a hit is ‘hairsplitting’ all violence is ‘problematic’.10 To him, it made no difference if Lisa hit Duane first, nor did he believe that self-defense was justification for Duane to hit Lisa.
It was of no consequence to Mr. Bartholomew as to the reasons for his client’s behavior. All men are guilty in his mind. He is an easy target in court, setting himself up for failure as he has no basis in FACT for his “findings”. I am disappointed in the state of Washington for letting a hack like Doug Bartholomew to be so influential in their DV system while it is clear that this man has no clue as to what he is doing, until you consider his $100 per hour fees. Therein lies the truth.

Who is Paul Gess? Whom does he work for? We issue valid complaints at WADVPress.
Never mind. I checked him out and it doesn’t surprise me. Indoctrinated individuals think of themselves as the law.
Here is the actual law, which the DSHS also doesn’t like to follow. But, we are and have been making headway into this area.

“Absence of Legitimate Medical Purpose” this best describes Doug Bartholomew, his conclusions are so far from any valid science. He presently has valid cetification from Washington State DSHS for one business but yet he operates “his” program under a business which is NOT certified, violating WAC 388-60 and RCW 18.130, we will see if DSHS does anything about this.
